Now is the time.....
I'm just writing to let you know that I have had to make the difficult decision to leave my business pod in Makers House at The Designerie in Bushmills.
Although this part of my journey has ended more quickly than I thought it would, I realise that it is only a small part of a bigger journey.
I have had the best time getting to know the other resident Makers and shop floor staff in The Designerie over the past year and I commend every one of them to you.
Amanda and Paula who, effortlessly, run the shop and Designerie Home, Jill from @linenlane, Laura from @lauramcilveenphotography, Fee from @feemctoaldesigns and Pat from @bareleafdesigns are amazingly talented at all they do and some of the best people I have had the pleasure of working with. If you haven't made it into the shop yet to meet them, I would encourage you to. They are fun, friendly and make a great team of supportive, encouraging staff and creative entrepreneurs. They are the reason making this decision has been one of the hardest things I have had to do, but when you know in your gut that something is the right thing to do, you just know - regardless of how difficult or at what personal cost.
I am going to take a short break. It was pre-planned.
We are going to Bonnie Scotland and visiting somewhere new, somewhere we have never been before.
When I return, I am going to be heading in a new direction with my art and will keep you informed and up-to-date as to where you will be able to see me/my work in the days to come.
I have always been a prolific artist and am constantly spilling my mind onto canvas, paper and fabric so I am still creating new work to share with you.
Even when I am on holiday I carry my sketchbook with me so keep an eye on my instagram @gillianbrownlow.art and you may see some of my holiday doodles!
I want to take this opportunity to thank you - sincerely - for your continuing support for me and my art business. By taking the time to read these newsletters, engage with my posts on the 'dreaded' socials and financially invest in my work you help me to survive and thrive in a world saturated with other stuff.
Thank you, beyond words for allowing my work into your physical and mental space and for seeing something beautiful, intriguing and different that captures your imagination and encourages reflection.
Stick around and join me on the next part of my journey called ART.
